Defend the Wretched of the Earth Against Imperialism! The United States have unleashed their �crusade against terror� with British participation. In fact this is just a desperate attempt to preserve unchecked world domination of the US and their Western allies by any means necessary. It is a war of the rich against the poor. This dominion, called �New World Order� is in itself a terrorist system, because it keeps the major part of humanity in incredible and ever increasing misery. To safeguard this injustice and this oppression, no crime and no terror was to heinous for the West. Since Word War II the United States alone have launched military attacks against some fifty nations to protect US interests. They do not even shrink back from genocide�almost two million Iraqis were killed by the embargo. Hiroshima, the wars against Korea and Vietnam, the support for bloody dictatorships and the dirty war in Latin America are just a few exam-ples. The true terrorist and criminal is the West, first of all the United States of America, who defend their tremendous riches. The stakes are high. The current aggression against the Afghan people could be the beginning of the end of this World Order led by the USA. The US risk to get a bloody nose in Afghanistan. The called to overthrow the Taliban, their former allies, but they have no stable political alternative at their disposal. A change of power with the help of the Northern Alliance could increase the influence of the geo-strategic enemies of the US in the region, Russia and Iran. This could only be forestalled by a massive intervention with ground troops, and these troops could be entangled in a costly guerrilla war for years�a war the US can not afford after the Vietnam trauma. Saturation bombing for several months with thousands and thousands of civilian casualties will probably not be enough to secure imperialist interests, but it could spark a general rebellion in the Islamic and Arab world. In fact the US have lost their control over Islamism, the instrument they used against the Soviet Union and�in the past decade�to destabilise Central Asia and get influence there. The transformation of Islamism has reached a decisive point. Millions and millions express their sympathy for jihad, not in the service of imperialism, but against imperialism. Bin Ladin has just rendered words to the facts when he said that there shall not be peace with imperialism as long as the West is oppressing the Arabic and Islamic world, and especially as long as Palestine is not free. The decisive question is whether in the aftermath of the events the Arab-Islamic popular masses will start the rebellion. The struggle is waged by the impoverished masses and still has its �Islamic� form, but its contents is being transformed into an anti-imperialist struggle for social justice that will inevitably be di-rected against the imperialist puppets in the region (many of who themselves are using the name of Islam). If the consciously social-revolutionary and anti-imperialist organisation succeed to form the nucleus of the mobilisation, then the separation of the poor Arab-Islamic masses from the pro-capitalist wing of the Islamic movement can be advanced and that will start a social revolution against imperialist World Order. There can be no doubt on which side the anti-imperialist forces of the world�especially in the West�must be on in this struggle. We must be on the side of the miserable, the oppressed, the exploited, the wretched, because it will be not least the international support for these popular masses, that will enable them to overcome the Islamic form of their struggle. (The Iranian example has shown that Islam can nei-ther destroy capitalism nor provide a functional project of social development and emancipation.) We therefore call for the formation of an anti-imperialist movement organised in popular com-mittees eventually converging in an international anti-imperialist coalition being able to take common independent action confronting not only the imperialist war mongers but also those who claim neutrality. No to cultural chauvinism against Islam! Down with Musharraf and the other imperialist puppets in the Middle East! Imperialist troops out of the Gulf, the Middle East and Central Asia! Stop the embargo against Iraq! For the right of self-determination of the Palestinian people!
