News from the peace movement in Greece
The preparations for the demonstration that will take place on 8/11
continue in Athens and Thessaloniki. Every day more trade unions and
mass organizations announce their participation. A lot of immigrant
communities and organizations also announced their participation in the
manifestation that has as mains slogans "No to the unjust war! No to the
Greece engagement", "We say No to war, No to the new crime. People
demand peace and a just society". All over Greece broad anti-war
commitees are been created, with the participation of individuals and
representatives of mass organizations. An anti-war commitee of young
artists was created a few days ago with the participation of music
groups, musicians and young actors.
At the same time the demostrations and multi-form activites continue all
over Greece. Yesterday, 30/10 was day of action against the imperialist
war in the Technological Institutions, while secondary school students
and parent's associations demonstrated in Thessaloniki, shouting slogans
against the war, demanding "expenses for the schools and the students
and not for the war". (photo attached)
