More than 100 heavily armed members of the state security special operations unit sealed off the motorway with armored vehicles, bringing traffic to a halt. On Friday, the commandos locked themselves in their training compound in northern Serbia, calling for the resignation of the Serbian interior minister and a halt to arrests of war crimes suspects. The government condemned that action and pledged disciplinary action against those involved. A federal bill on working with the Hague tribunal failed to be enacted in June and no new attempts to push it through have been made since.
