Chinese Communist Party officials expelled ============================= The official Chinese news agency says the Communist Party has expelled two senior figures on separate corruption charges. It is alleged that one of the men, Shi Zhaobin, a former deputy party secretary in the southeastern province of Fujian, took thousands of dollars in bribes. He is accused of taking the bribes to help set up a big smuggling ring. The other man, Li Jiating, a former deputy party secretary in Yunnan in southwestern China, is alleged to have received more than $100,000 in bribes in an unrelated case. >From the newsroom of the BBC World Service
