Chinese Communist Party officials expelled
=============================

The official Chinese news agency says the Communist Party has expelled two
senior figures on separate corruption charges.

It is alleged that one of the men, Shi Zhaobin, a former deputy party
secretary in the southeastern province of Fujian, took thousands of dollars
in bribes.

He is accused of taking the bribes to help set up a big smuggling ring.

The other man, Li Jiating, a former deputy party secretary in Yunnan in
southwestern China, is alleged to have received more than $100,000 in bribes
in an unrelated case.
