52nd anniversary of PRC observed
Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- The Korean Committee for Cultural
Relations with Foreign Countries and the Central Committee of the
Korea-China Friendship Association yesterday gave a banquet at the People's
Palace of Culture on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of the People's
Republic of China. Minister of public health and chairman of the central
committee of the association Kim Su Hak in his speech said the Korean people
are sincerely rejoiced over the achievements made by the Chinese people in
their efforts to build a modern, civilized and new china and in external
relations under the leadership of the Communist Party of China with Jiang
Zemin as its head and hoped that they would achieve greater success in the
future, too.
He expressed the belief that Korea-China Friendship and Cooperation
would further develop in various domains in the spirit which was agreed upon
at the repeated meetings and talks between the two leaders.
Chinese ambassador to the DPRK Wang Guozhang said in his address that
the china visit of General Secretary Kim Jong Il last year and this year and
the Korea visit of General Secretary Jiang Zemin some time ago gave a strong
impetus to the development of the Sino-Korean friendly and cooperative
relations.
Noting that it is the steadfast policy of the Chinese party and
government to boost the traditional relations of the Sino-Korean Friendship
and Cooperation, he said that they will strive to put the relations on a
higher level in the new century together with the Korean party, government
and people.

Anniversary of Guinean independence marked
Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held here on Sept. 27
to commemorate the 43rd anniversary of the independence of Guinea. Present
at the meeting were Kim Jin Bom, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for
Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries who is vice-chairman of the
Korea-Guinea Friendship Association, and members of the friendship
association together with working people in the city.
A congratulatory message to the Guinean President was adopted after a
speech at the meeting.

15th Yun I Sang Musical Symposium held
Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- The 15th Yun I Sang Musical Symposium
was held at the People's Palace of Culture on Sept 27. Speakers explained
thematic contents of musical works created by him and their styles and
varieties and proved his unique ways of representation, highly appreciating
his patriotic creative activities for the reunification of the country and
the national unity.
Present at the symposium were minister of culture Kang Nung Su, music
experts and artistes in the city.
Also present there were Ri Su Ja, widow of Yun I Sang, and his daughter.

Korea's reunification is urgent
Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today says in a signed
article that Korea's reunification is the urgent demand of the nation which
brooks no further delay. The article calls on all the Koreans in the north
and south of Korea and overseas to turn out in the struggle to build a
reunified prosperous country.
 The article goes on:
Since the historic Pyongyang meeting and the announcement of the June 15
North-South Joint Declaration the movement for national reunification has
entered the track of national independence. This gives a great joy to the
whole Korean nation and inspires all the fellow countrymen to the struggle
for national reunification.
The Korean nation's struggle for reunification is not smooth.
Enemies of reunification are opposed to the historic joint declaration
which calls for solving the issue of national reunification independently by
the concerted efforts of the Korean nation and the development of
inter-Korean relations.
They are intensifying their criminal hostile policy towards the DPRK and
their anti-DPRK campaign while resorting to confrontation and war moves.
Under this situation, if Korea remains divided into the north and the
south and they stand in confrontation with each other the Korean nation can
not be freed from the domination and subordination of the foreign forces and
may be made their plaything again.
National reunification is a vital demand of the Korean nation and a
supreme task related to its life and death.
The peace and reunification of Korea are also the unanimous demand of
the world peace-loving people.
No force on earth can perpetuate the division of the homogeneous Korean
nation which has been formed and developed through thousands of years of
history.

Statement of spokesman for Korean Anti-Nuke Peace Committee
Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Korean Anti-Nuke
Peace Committee today issued a statement denouncing the Japanese
reactionaries for their recent rocket test-fire. The Japanese reactionaries
are ridiculous enough to describe their recent test-fire of large-size
carrier rocket H-2A as one for "space development," the spokesman says, and
goes on:
Even the Japanese authorities do not hide the fact that this rocket can
be used for military purposes as it is Japan's prototype rocket easily
convertible into an inter-continental ballistic missile depending on its
aim.
Moreover, the Japanese reactionaries have persistently pursued an
anti-DPRK hostile policy after defining it as its primary "target." Pursuant
to this policy, they have revised the "Japan-U.S. defense cooperation
guidelines" to cope with the "emergency on the Korean peninsula" in a bid to
embark upon reckless militarist expansion. with this rocket test-fire as a
momentum, Japan has begun working in real earnest to emerge as a nuclear
power.
Through the rocket test-fire the Japanese ruling quarters sought cunning
and sly aims to build up tremendous military muscle, oblivious of a bitter
lesson drawn by Japan in the past, and emerge as a "dominator" with "the
world's first-class armed forces" and nukes, if an opportunity presents
itself, and thus lord it over other asians.
This poses a grave threat to the peace and security in northeast Asia
and the rest of the world.
When the DPRK launched a satellite for peaceful scientific research
Japan adamantly insisted that it was a "missile launch." Japan is now
frantically stepping up its moves to become a military giant and go nuclear
after unhesitatingly launching the rocket.
This more clearly proves that its clamour about "threat" from the DPRK
is nothing but sophism to cover up its moves to militarize Japan and become
a nuclear power.
Japan should clearly know that the moves escalated by it to develop
missiles and go nuclear to invade the DPRK, pursuant to its hostile policy
toward the DPRK, will only lead it to self-destruction.
Japan should not misinterpret the peace-loving DPRK's stand whereby it
declared a moratorium on the satellite launch as an expression of its
weakness.
The DPRK's missile program is of peaceful nature but is merciless to
those who infringe upon its dignity and sovereignty.

Gift to Kim Jong Il from Mongolian delegation
Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- It happened on a summer day of Juche
44 (1955) when President Kim Il Sung called at his native home in
Mangyongdae to inquire after his grandfather's health. That day, he was told
by his relative that an institution sent the grandfather some wine several
times as a medicine. He said there is no need to receive even wine as the
state enforced a system of free medical care. The president said that he
would send the grandfather medicinal wine in the future. in the subsequent
period the president regularly sent it to his grandfather.
There is another anecdote about his doctor.
The president always listened to his doctor's advices and met his
requests. One day his doctor told him not to enter any place where there was
gas during his field guidance, as he was aged. On hearing this, he said that
he should not avoid the places full of dust or gas but inspect those places
to indicate ways of clearing them. At that time even his doctor was at a
loss for words.
It happened in July Juche 36 (1947) when Kim Il Sung visited Pyongyang
primary school no.2 at that time.
Upon entering the school, he slowly walked toward its corridor. A
schoolgirl on duty asked him to register his name on the visitor's book,
unaware who he was.
After writing about the person who he would like to meet and the purpose
of his visit, etc. on the book, he put below that: "Chairman Kim Il Sung of
the People's Committee of North Korea."
It was not until that moment that the girl knew he was President Kim Il
Sung. He praised her for her high sense of responsibility.

Anecdotes about Kim Il Sung
Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il received a gift
from the Mongolian Foreign Ministry delegation on a visit to the DPRK. It
was handed over to an official concerned by State Secretary Ganbold
Baasanjav who is head of the delegation.

For Spanish-speaking people
------------------------------------------------------------------------
