Oct 9, IRNA -- Head of the Khalili Branch of Afghanistan's Vahdat-e-Eslami (Islamic Unity) Party told IRNA here Monday that the central regions of his country have remained totally intact during the Sunday night and Monday air rids of the American-British forces. Mohammad Mohaqqeq who a few minutes ago had contacts with his party's officials in Afghanistan also said that Azargan, Qour, Meydan, Ghazneh and Bamian regions, all in central parts of Afghanistan, have remained safe from the US-led retaliatory attacks against Usama bin-Laden and the Taliban militants. "Even the Bamian Airport, that is especially used for the landings and take offs of large planes, and the Taliban's military planes still use it has not been attacked yet," he expressed surprise. Mohaqqeq said that according to the news he has received form his war-stricken country, at least twenty civilians were martyred during the Sunday night air raids of Kabul, and that is besides the innocent individuals who are reported to have got killed in Jalalabad and Qandehar, of whose number there is still no reliable report. He also told IRNA's Mashhad bureau that the American and British reconnaissance planes kept flying over Kabul, Qandehar, Jalalbad and Mazar-i-Sharif throughout Monday. According to this Afghan party official, the Taliban militants have totally and severely halted the pedestrians and vehicles traffic in the missile or bomb stricken areas. He said that the Taliban forces have been dynamically changing positions and transferring their forces ever since the beginning of the air raids and even a couple of days before they started. "The inhabitants of the northern mountainous regions that have never been ruled by the Taliban have not immigrated from their hometowns though, and the North Coalition forces are ready to launch their heaviest military operation against the Taliban militants," concluded Mohaqqeq.
