Ramallah:� In order to fill the vacuum created after the assassination of
our comrade, the PFLP General Secretary Abu Ali Mustafa, and within the
context of the continuing Palestinian resistance movement against the
Zionist occupation, the Central Committee of the PFLP convened its full
contingency at home and abroad, in an atmosphere of responsibility and
democracy, in order to elect new leadership for the PFLP.� As a result,
Comrade Ahmad Sa�adat was elected as the new General Secretary and Comrade
Abdil Rahim Mallouh, as deputy General Secretary.�
The Central Committee, together with the newly elected leaders, emphasized
the need to persevere in the resistance movement and the Intifada until the
Israeli occupation is brought to an end and until our people�s legitimate
rights to freedom, independence, and the return of refugees, are realized.
At the end of the meeting, the Central Committee stressed that it is of
crucial importance to unify all Palestinian forces against the Zionist
occupation atrocities that are aiming not only to destroy Palestinian
infrastructure but also to destroy the identity of the Palestinian people
and to impose conditions of surrender through taking advantage of the
current international crisis.
