The video was released by the US Defence Department but a spokesman for the Jamiat-Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) party said the United States should give proof of bin Laden's involvement in court. "Americans are trying to justify their genocide of Afghans and Muslims by resorting to such low quality tricks," said Riaz Durrani, the JUI's information secretary. "The Americans, if they have evidence, should prove his guilt before a court of law and not TV channels and newspapers run by Jews," he added. The JUI supported the Taliban militia in Afghanistan throughout the US military campaign launched after the September 11 attacks. Durrani said the video "will only cause further doubts in the minds of Muslims" about the US campaign. In the video, al-Qaeda network chief bin Laden claims credit for the September 11 attacks.
