Ananova. 19 December 2001. Bush could take war beyond Afghanistan.

WASHINGTON -- The United States could take its war against al-Qaida and
the Taliban beyond Afghanistan.

The US government is vowing to 'go after' terrorism wherever it exists.

It's thought it will take the so-called war on terrorism into Pakistan
and other Arab countries.

American investigators are already in Pakistan questioning al-Qaida and
Taliban fighters who managed to cross the border.

"We're going to continue to use every tool at our disposal," said a
Pentagon spokesman.

Iraq also has been identified by Bush and other senior administration
officials as a potential target, despite warnings by Egypt that Arab
countries were unlikely to approve of a US attack against another Arab
country.

In Iraq's case, Bush has commented on Saddam Hussein's ongoing refusal
to let UN inspectors in to hunt for weapons of mass destruction.

The Deputy Secretary of Defence Paul Wolfowitz said: "The war against
terrorism is about more than one man. It's about the whole complex of
global terrorist networks that interact and support one another."
