Many working people have rest at health resorts and holiday homes
Pyongyang, December 30 (KCNA) -- At least 200,000 working people of
Korea took a rest at health resorts and holiday homes at state expense this
year. On January 3 this year, leader Kim Jong Il told officials to
extensively build rest homes and health resorts for the people throughout
the country.
Hundreds of health resorts and holiday homes have since been built or
reconstructed on famous mountains, at scenic spots, on east and west sea
beaches and at beauty places, where working people had a rest free of
charge.
This demonstrates the true advantages and vitality of the socialist
system.

Small groups of Pyongyang Circus perform abroad
Pyongyang, December 30 (KCNA) -- Small groups of the Pyongyang Circus
are proving successful in the international combined circus performances now
underway in Stuttgart of Germany and Madrid and Valencia of Spain
respectively. Korean acrobats staged acrobatic pieces "seesaw and swing",
"trick on pole", "fliers", "ring turning" and "flying girls", etc.
One of the organizers of the international combined circus performance
in Stuttgart said after seeing the acrobatic pieces "seesaw and swing" and
"trick on pole" that no country in this world can reach the level of Korean
circus showing the national character peculiar to Korea and its flawless
technique.
The chief in charge of the performances noted that "trick on pole" is
the best in its skill and treble somersault backside is rare to be seen in
any other countries. After watching the performance given by a small group
of the Pyongyang Circus in Madrid, the mayor and other officials of the city
praised "fliers" as the best masterpiece.
The general director of the circus theatre of Spain said that this
number is an impeccable work which instills strength and courage into
spectators and leads them to a fascinating world of fantasy and rich emotion
with high acrobatic skill and elegant movement in the air.
Meanwhile, the acrobatic number "flying girls" is now being presented in
Valencia.
The chief in charge of the performances at the Valencia theatre noted
that this acrobatic number is one of the world's best numbers, adding the
free flying of Korean girls in the air is something very mysterious.

Reception given by North Hamgyong Provincial People's Committee
Pyongyang, December 30 (KCNA) -- The North Hamgyong Provincial People's
Committee hosted a reception yesterday on the occasion of the New Year Juche

members of the Chinese consulate general in Chongjin, consul general Arkadi
Lavrov and staff members of the Russian consulate general in Chongjin.
Present there were Kim Song Gwon, vice-chairman of the provincial

"Joint land management plan" condemned
Pyongyang, December 30 (KCNA) -- Minju Joson today in a signed article
condemns the U.S. troops stationed in South Korea for pushing ahead with a
"joint land management plan" with the intention of giving the impression
that there is some change in the U.S. policy in South Korea and putting down
the anti-U.S. sentiments daily growing among South Korea people. The plan is
intended to expand some U.S. bases in return for returning its useless bases
to South Korea and make more preparations for attacks on the north.
This clearly proves that the united states is going to solve the issue
of the Korean peninsula by means of gaining military edge.
The United States already declared the DPRK is the "first principal
enemy" and has not yet dropped this view.
It is a clear to everyone that the United States is looking for a chance
to make a military attack against the DPRK.
The present reality shows that the U.S. troops stationed in South Korea
are the basic factor of blocking the peaceful reunification of the Korean
peninsula and threatening world peace and security.
The United States will gain nothing with its policy of stifling the DPRK
by force of arms.
The United States should immediately withdraw its aggression troops from
South Korea, mindful of grave consequences of its anachronistic hostile
policy toward the DPRK, power politics.
