Air strikes on Pakistan 'would be act of war'
==============================

Any Indian strike against Pakistan will be considered an act of war, a
senior Pakistan government aide has warned.

India has threatened military action against terrorist groups it claims
Pakistan is harbouring after the suicide bombing of its parliament.

Major General Rashi Qureishi said, however, that groups in Pakistan calling
for an end to Indian rule of Kashmir were not involved in terrorism.

With tensions between the historic enemies mounting, he warned: "There is no
terrorist training camp in Pakistan.

"If India makes the mistake of launching an attack - air or ground - on
anything on the land frontier or violates the air frontier with Pakistan,
Pakistan will respond in a reciprocal fashion.

"Pakistan will consider that an act of war."

Pakistan has offered to co-operate on an inquiry into who was responsible
for the attack on the Indian parliament, Major General Qureishi told the
BBC.

He said: "What is happening, especially in Kashmir, is something completely
different to what is happening in the offices of those organisations in
Pakistan."
