Present there were members of the art troupe led by Mun Tal Sung, vice-chairman of the central standing committee of the Korean Youth League in Japan, on a visit to the socialist homeland. ��� On hand were Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Choe Hwi, secretary of the central committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, and officials concerned. ��� Speeches were made at the reception. ��� A joint art performance was given by schoolchildren in Pyongyang and members of the art troupe at the reception. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bush administration hit for obstructing peaceful reunification of Korea ��� Pyongyang, January 12 (KCNA) -- Bush administration's hostile policy towards the DPRK and U.S. military presence in South Korea are a source of escalating tensions on the Korean peninsula and a chief obstacle to peace and reunification in this region, says Minju Joson today in a signed commentary. After declaring this year as a "year of war" the U.S. describes the DPRK as a "sponsor of terrorism" and takes issue with it over "missile threat" in an attempt to invent a pretext for the provocation of a war against the DPRK, the news analyst says, and goes on: ��� As the world people admit, the DPRK is always exposed to the threat of military terrorism from the U.S. ��� The DPRK has never fired even a single shell at the U.S. the latter has the largest number of missiles in the world. ��� The former's missile development is for self-defence from a to z. It is only the U.S. that is clamoring about "threat" from the DPRK in a bid to stifle it. ��� A campaign of the bush administration to stifle the DPRK is escalating the tensions on the Korean peninsula. This deteriorates the bilateral relations and has a baneful impact on inter-Korean relations. ��� For the removal of the confrontation between the DPRK and the U.S. and the north and south of Korea, a product of the cold war structure, and preservation of a lasting peace and stability in the Korean peninsula and the rest of the world it is necessary for the U.S. to drop its hostile policy towards the DPRK and pull its forces out of South Korea. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Complete Collection of Kim Il Sung's Works" vol. 40 published in DPRK ��� Pyongyang, January 12 (KCNA) -- "Complete Collection of Kim Il Sung's Works" volume 40 was published by the Workers' Party of Korea Publishing House. This is a library of the immortal Juche idea systematically and comprehensively dealing with the president's works according to a chronological order. The book contains 23 works including his historic speeches, concluding speeches and talks from January to may in Juche 57 (1968). ��� These works were published against the backdrop of a crucial period. The Korean revolution and the world peace were put into a grave danger by the incident of the U.S. imperialists' armed spy ship "pueblo" and the entire party and army and all the people in the DPRK were effecting a new surge in the revolution and construction, keeping themselves in full combat readiness. ��� In the works, the president set forth an outstanding idea, theories and policies for consolidating our revolutionary position like an impregnable fortress, with a deep penetration into the requirements of the situation and the developing revolution. ��� Clarified in the book are the principled stand of the WPK towards the moves of the U.S. imperialists for aggression and a new war, tasks of closing the revolutionary ranks and increasing the national defence capabilities, the policy for strengthening the economic potential and self-reliance of the country and policies for improving the educational work in conformity with the requirements of the developing reality and ways for their implementation, etc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Korean Phungsan dog handed to Japanese juggler ��� Tokyo, January 10 (KNS-KCNA) -- A Korean Phungsan dog was handed to Japanese juggler Denko Hikida in the name of the organizing committee of the April Spring Friendship Art Festival. A presentation ceremony was held at the Korean Hall in Tokyo on January 8. ��� So Man Sul, chairman of the central standing committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, read out a presentation note from the homeland and conveyed the note, a record of stock and a Phungsan dog to her. ��� Denko participated in the April spring friendship art festival twice and commemorated the Day of the Sun with the people in the DPRK, he said, wishing her a greater success in her performance. ��� Expressing thanks to leader Kim Jong Il for his great loving care, she said she would positively contribute to art activities for Japan-DPRK friendship in the future, too. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Famous international Taekwon-do instructor ��� Pyongyang, January 12 (KCNA) -- Jon Si Hwan, an international Taekwon-do instructor and a sixth grade player, was born on Nov. 8, Juche 50 (1961). he is 168 cm tall and weighs 75 kg. He began to learn Taekwon-do when he was 11. ��� He became an international Taekwon-do instructor in Juche 73 (1984). ��� He competed in exhibition matches in china in 1987 and in the former Soviet Union in 1989. ��� He trained many practitioners in china from 1991 to 1993 and in Mongolia from 1998 to 1999. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Korean people all out to attain this year's goals ��� Pyongyang, January 12 (KCNA) -- Last year the Korean people made a breakthrough in the building of a powerful socialist nation even under the difficult conditions. Last year's commitments were honoured far ahead of schedule by many factories and enterprises such as the Ranam Coal Mining Machine Complex, the Musan Mining Complex, the Pyongyang Integrated Circuit Factory, the Hamhung Large Machine-Tool Factory, the Kumjingang Machine Plant and the Saenal Electrical Instrument Factory. ��� Tens of thousands of new technical innovation proposals were introduced to production in different fields of the national economy and production processes and management were computerized to meet the need of the era of the information industry. ��� Many minor power stations were built in different parts of the country last year, including the creation of at least 12,000 kw additional generating capacity in Jagang Province. ��� Poultry farms and stock breeding centres were built and rebuilt on a modern expansion basis in Pyongyang and other parts of the country. ��� Modern fish farms, catfish farms and basic foodstuff factories were built to consolidate the foundation for the improvement of the standard of people's living. ��� The construction of waterways extending scores of kms and different kinds of structures are close to completion in the Kaechon-Lake Thaesong Waterway project. ��� The plan to realign 100,000 hectares of fields in South Hwanghae Province by coming spring had been carried out at over 95 per cent as of the end of last year. ��� The Korean people are now all out to glorify this year as a year of a new surge in the building of a powerful nation, drawing on the experience gained last year. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Scores of Korean golden paintings created ��� Pyongyang, January 12 (KCNA) -- Recently the Mansudae Art Studio created scores of Korean golden paintings such as "Lake Samji in February," "Sunrise on Mt. Paektu," "Tiger," "Wild Geese On the Moonlit Night" and "Pterophyllum Eimelkei". Anything can be depicted on any material coated with pure gold (100 ) powder. This method of drawing helps preserve well the concise and delicate drawing techniques peculiar to traditional Korean painting. ��� This kind of work is more attractive than any other paintings and can give diverse effect according to the change of lighting colour. ��� By this method a painter can create any oeuvres of various themes and styles including character, landscape, animal and mural paintings. ��� This method can be applied to decorating palaces and temples and walls with golden paintings. ��� This kind of painting can be done on any material including cloth, paper and metal mundo, la rpdc es un objeto de amenaza permanente del terrorismo militar de ee.uu.. ��� hasta la fecha la rpdc no disparo ni un proyectil de canon hacia el territorio norteamericano. ��� ee.uu. es el ejerce influencia funesta sobre las relaciones norte-sur de corea. ��� para eliminar el estado de confrontacion entre la rpdc y los ee.uu. y entre el norte y el sur de corea, producto de la estructura de la guerra fria y preservar la paz y la estabilidad duraderas en la peninsula coreana y el resto del mundo, ee.uu. debe renunciar su politica de hostilidad a la rpdc y retirar ante todo a sus tropas
