[50 years seems a long time to wait, I wonder

KATHMANDU, January 15 (Xinhuanet) -- U.S. Secretary of State Colin
Powell is scheduled to arrive here on Friday on a one-day goodwill
visit to Nepal, a Nepali Foreign Ministry official said Tuesday.
Nepali Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is looking after
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will host a dinner in honor of
Powell and discuss with him on the role to be played by Nepal in
fighting against terrorism, Nepali Minister of State for Foreign
Affairs Arjung Singh told reporters here.
The talks will also likely focus on matters of economic
cooperation and bilateral relations, Singh added.
Powell is the first U.S. Secretary of State to visit Nepal
since the two countries established diplomatic relations almost 50
years ago.
The U.S. secretary of state is scheduled to start his Asian
tour from Tuesday, which included India, Pakistan and Japan.
