KATHMANDU -- Local people in Bhimfedi VDC have handed over 81 guns to the army and police to help government in its efforts to fight the Maoist insurgency. Our Makawanpur district Correspondent reports that local people in Bhimfedi VDC handed over a total of 81 guns, including 53 muzzle loading guns of which 28 were licensed, over to the army and police in the presence of local authorities. This is the first time that the local people have handed over their weapons to authorities in the district. Those coming to surrender their weapons included an 11-year-old boy, 81 year-old man and women.
