There is already one for Yahoo in Kopete since 0.12 :) But it has kdelibs
dependencies that could be removed with efforts.

See trunk/KDE/kdenetwork/protocols/yahoo/libkyahoo

Or KDE3 version:
branches/kopete/0.12/kopete/protocols/yahoo/libkyahoo

About Yahoo/MSN federation, this is not active yet, but I'll investigate when
the next beta of Windows Live Messenger 8 will be out. My guess will be that
both protocols will be still needed but you will be able to add people from
Yahoo or from MSN (vice-versa)

The WLM contact list and address book is now fetched with a Web service, for
easier interopability with another service, like Yahoo. But the Web service
is closed, heck that's a Microsoft thing what do you expect ;)
(BTW the Web service is giving me troubles :P )

Also I will need a mentor.
