Hello,
I use kopete now over years and always migrated my configs with updates. Now I
updated to version 0.12 (compiled on my own) and first off it worked. But then
I tried many things in the settigs dialog and changed photos from buddies and
so on and on. Suddenly kopete crashed and it didn't start anymore after that.
It hung after startup and no gui refresh. I deleted
~/.kde/share/config/kopeterc and then it started again. I don't have an idea
what the reason was but my config file was broke. I was glad that I had a copy
of the old version on my laptop.
My wish now is: Please make sure that older configurations migrate with
updates, and not only the binary of the application! I really don't wanna
delete my $HOME/.kde for every upgrade.
