Reconnection of jabber works fine here. Tested it with my 12h disconnect just
40 minutes ago. Within 30 seconds jabber.ccc.de, amessage.de, and kdetalk.net
were reconnected. However, ICQ takes up to 20 minutes.
Are you behind a router? I am and, thus, the network interface does not go down
on the 12h disconnect. If you are connected directly, jabber might reconnect
too fast for you, that is, before your network is up again. Since ICQ does not
instantly notice a disconnect in contrast to jabber, its reconnect does work.
In this case, I would try the connection status plugin.
