------- Additional Comments From bat flurf net 2007-12-30 11:58 -------
This bug is made more serious by the fact that it's spread out across the bug
reports of every OTHER piece of software a Kopete user might be using. I
thought it was a bug in either Kubuntu Gutsy or Firefox, because the
Ctrl+Shift+W key no longer closed the Firefox window as it used to. It was
only when I noticed the subtle change to the Kopete icon in the system tray
that I realised the real cause of the problem.

To reproduce:

Close Kopete. Open Firefox. Confirm that Ctrl+Shift+W closes the Firefox
window. This is the correct behaviour. Now open Kopete and Firefox. Ensuring
that Firefox definitely has the focus, try Ctrl+Shift+W again. The window
doesn't close; instead, Kopete toggles its Away status.

There's nothing in any Kopete menus to change (or even admit to) these keyboard
settings. This is a bit like drinking your room mate's last beer without
asking: it's impolite. Because it's making other software look bad, it's even
a bit un-neigbourly.
