The problem here is that the knotify4 daemon currently does not detect changes
in configuration files. If you disable the popup notifications in Settings ->
Configure Notifications, kill knotify4 and start it again (alternatively
restart KDE or reboot) they will go away.
Notice that the "Show balloon" option in Settings -> Configure is not used
anymore and has been removed from the UI in SVN, see bug 161800.
