In the vi<-->emacs holy war, I carry a spear for vi, however if ever
there was an 80/20, it's here for me. Maybe a 98/2. I can find, search &
replace, do some basic indenting, etc.

My shame is all the things in vi I have to ask about to turn off. I find
most colored syntax a pain, but don't know where to go to make it go
away. I can never remember how to turn on/off line wrapping and
auto indent.

Please don't rush to fix me, I'm just sharing (blathering). I'm enrolled
in a Learn A New vi Feature A Month program, so assuming vi stays
static, in about thirty years I should be close to proficient.

It's depressing when even your editor's smarter than you are.
