Your message below implies that Haddad said "What can I say?". I searched the story and do not find that in there. What was your source of that ?

To hell with SAIC's reputation as a company involved in information
security.  A break-in at a defense contractor like SAIC is a concern
bigger than SAIC's market status.

"But what can I say?" Haddad asked.

Hopefully the Defense Department will let him know.
