It's called BSD.

While the *BSD folks use gcc, a lot of the operating system utilities are BSD licensed and BSD heritage, not GPL. Sometimes, this is infuriating as the fscking flags are different (See: tar -xvjf).

If you were really serious, it probably isn't that much work to replace everything GPL in a *BSD. The only one which would be a problem would be gcc.
