Please don't send messages/replies from the list directly to me. The list
archives won't show the traffic and thus lessen anyone else's ability to
learn from the conversation, and I am highly likely to can your message as
spam since you're not on my white-list.

As far as the FC3 installation went, I used the bundle of packages provided
by the <http://www.videolan.org> site and did a one by one install.
Actually not really true, I did:

$ sudo rpm -ivh "*.i38.rpm"

in the directory where I expanded the archive. That way rpm takes care of
the dependancies and installation order. There were a couple problems
associated with the VCD package because of missing sysmlinks, so I ignored
it and fixed it later.
