This article is misleading, and I believe most users assumptions of
what Automatic Update is is closer to the procedures that are going to
happen.

What is actually happening, is apparently if you have automatic
updates enabled on your Windows Xp box, there was on option to still
get automatic updates, but not actually update to sp2. imho, most
people who would enable automatic updates are going to want the
latest(and may or may not be greatest) Windows form MS.

The only segment of the "computer using world" that is really affected
by this is the companies that have an actual testing procedure in
place before they upgrade anything. I have personally seen very few
companies like that.

I don't think that anybody pro-linux/anti-Microsoft could produce any
type of positive press from this. Any attempt would most likely
generate a clarification from MS which makes the person issuing the
press release look like they don't know the issues.

m2c, and sorry about being OT(I personally won't respond anymore to this topic)
