Chuckle, I was thinking about it. I don't know too many rich folks so I cannot comment on them. I do know that in any culture not being able to find shelter or food is not good. Beyond those there is a lot of variance in what is "needed." Some cultures seem to do a better job of making people happy though than others. I have been fortunate to marry into a family of very happy people who are by our standards quite poor but who own their homes outright (i.e. they are paid for) and who never go hungry and so the main conditions of a good life are present. For them that good life means enjoyable relationships with other people and since the family is rather large the family suffices for the most part. For poor people here in San Diego I can assure you that, whether or not they are artists, their life is made much more stressful by the high cost of housing. You might ask yourself, if I had free housing and food for myself and my family would I be doing the same thing that I am doing now. If the answer is yes then you are either quite lucky in how you earn a living or really lacking in imagination. boblq -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
