If you let Anaconda partition the disk automatically, FC3 sets up LVM.
A small (100MB) /boot partition, and the rest of the disk goes to
LVM, Group 00 Volume 00 is / and Group 00 Volume 01 is swap.

As I discovered a month or two ago, this makes it really difficult to
resize the Volumes because the root file system is inside the only
volume, and you can't easily unmount it. There are sufficient tools
on the FC3 rescue disk to do this, running from a RAMdisk. Unless
something else goes wrong.
