ipod on Linux

Have any of you successfully set up the iPod on Linux, specifically rh9?  My
friend's son received an iPod and we wish to get it going.  We have no windows
access here.  The included CD has software for the Mac and for windows.  (We 
have
no Mac either.)  We just have a PC running rh9.
