My significant other had the same laptop as mine, we got them at the same time...when she couldn't get hers to power up and it couldn't be started anymore, I offered to let her use my laptop with her hard drive while she decides on a new pc. Thing is, she is taking a LONG time choosing what she wants next, so right now my Linux system consists of a small hard drive sitting on my shelf <sniff!> So, since I am currently not 'Linux-ing', I am just lurking this list for now. My attention has been diverted to figuring out all the ways one can crash a palmOne Zire72 and lose all the newly entered data just before synchronizing with my Toshiba Portege tablet pc. At this I have been hugely successful. <grin!> Actually I've been trying to learn how to program for PalmOS; it's interesting. There's a lot of developer stuff online at PalmSource.com. There's been talk of palmOne getting in to Linux, but I haven't heard much about it lately. the newest device they've come out with is a PalmOS-based device that has a 4-gigabyte internal hard drive--my Zire72 barely lasts nearly 2 hours on its battery. How long is this new "LifeDrive Mobile Manager" going to work on its internal battery? ;) Greets to everyone on the list...this is still my favorite mailing list, and I still appreciate all the help everyone offered to me back when I was so crazy with learning Linux. I'm probably going to get VMware sometime and put Linux on my Toshiba's hard drive. What's the latest "list favorite" distribution of Linux? RedHat, Fedora, or..? -- --Mark Seven Smith [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
