that's OK by me. But it does seem like a waste of the kernel developers'
energy to be dinking with SCM systems instead of the kernel.
Not being a follower of the LKML, my first question has to be "Who but
Linus dinked with the LK source tree's SCM?". If no one, or at least no
one other than official maintainers, then my opinion falls into the
category of "Who cares what SCM is now used?".
The obviously begged second question is "Does Torvald's choice of SCM
really bother those who maintain the kernel?". If not, why should the
rest of us give a flying frog whatwith or howso Linus keeps track of the
kernel's stuff? Now, if there was a general consensus that this
Line-ucks thing has turned into a total piece of shiny crap since the
Finnish God switched over to The Git, then I say "Hang 'im!".
Otherwise, I have to hope the people are so wringing their hands about
why Linux isn't using /their/ favorite SCM have as much loyalty towards
their friends as they do towards their software.
Linus has plainly stated that he uses the SCM /he/ prefers, and he
doesn't much give a rat's ass as to what /others/ prefer he uses. That
seems pretty "End of discussion"-ish to me. Why doesn't anyone else get it?
