It is so easy to use, she will fall in love with it. If you plan on using
KnoppMyth (which I highly recommend) to box will be a dedicated MythTV box
running a Debian / Knoppix distro.

It is great having one though. I've been using one since October 2003 and
loving every minute of it. I feel the best benefit in having one is that
when watching a recorded show, it automatically skips commercials. You can
blow through an hour show in about 45 minutes.

You should take a look at the forum on KnoppMyth to be sure someone else has
successfully installed and configured a KnoppMyth Box using your hardware
(or similar hardware). Like many Linux Distro's, not all hardware is
supported, e.g., your Airlink WiFi Card and your PVR-150. Although on a
quick search of the forum, it appears the PVR-150 is supported (or at least
works).

The newest version of KnoppMyth streams the recorded programs and ripped
music via its web interface. My hat is off to Cecil and Dale (the authors
and programmers of KnoppMyth). They have done a great job of putting
together all the necessary files, etc. to make it easier for novices like me
to put a box together. You and your love it once you get it up and running.

Good Luck,

--Brian

You are the man. I will print this and have it tattooed to my chest for
my trip to Fry's/CCC.

My wife openly wondered "why this, why now?" But I know once she
realizes that we can automate recording Shields & Brooks off the Friday
Newshour, and she'll never miss it even if the kids are fighting and we
forget, she'll come around.
