So where do the "trackballs" that are controlled with the thumb
fit in? I find those to be the most useful form of trackballs.

(I don't have one of the trackballs that uses a ball the size and
weight of a billiard ball. The people that I know of that *do*
seem to like 'em a lot.)

Well, sorta.

Move the mouse with your whole arm, and your shoulder ends up taking
the strain -- at least, for most folks I know, that's the case.

Solution... plant your wrist on the table and use just your fingers.
This doesn't get rid of the strain on your shoulder and upper back,
but it helps some, at the expense of the wrist.

I find that I mostly move the mouse with my fingers.

Plus, the mouse has the problem in that a click can induce a move. A
trackball can avoid this.
