My guess is that it will have to be a ad driven scenario, but  Google ads have 
been text based so they are not that intrusive. The scenario I envision is that 
you will go to a "accept services" page that that has a Google page. Now 
imagine if Google has a location ad driven service to sell to local merchants.  
Google could list companies that are near the hotspot you are surfing.  Google 
could offer a basic listing service on their maps with enhanced services to the 
local businesses. Now imagine a virtual coupon service.

The really exciting thing is that this has the potential to transform the 
hotspot service to a 'pull' marketing model. It will be interesting to see how 
T-mobile and SBC respond.
