I'm impressed with your knowledge of the nuances of the GPL.

Isn't the "copyright notice" a form of advertising?

I guess I don't understand what is the legal definition of
"advertising".

By mandating certain strings to be in the copyright notice,
aren't I able to "sneak" some mandatory advertising in there?
