You kinda trailed off there, Juan. I downloaded and burned a copy of Knoppix STD just now and confirmed that it boots. I traversed the menus and didn't see anything that said "save Lan's corrupted HD", so I guess I'll have to poke around. Hints/tips welcome. Otherwise, I'll just see if I can boot to Knoppix and if so, if I can mount /dev/hdd. I really just want one clear chance to get the good photos off to a better HD and then I'll archive them and deal with the corrupt drive from a position of strength. All this will have to wait until I get home.
