I don't know what issues you want answered regarding
copyright and fair-use of email but I can tell you
what little I know....

Emails are automatically copyrighted from the instant
of creation like all other works (paintings, books, music, software,
etc.).  You don't have to do anything to get it under
copyright protection.

Fair use is an ill-defined term.  Even uses that are clearly
fair use can be dangerous to excercise unless you plan
to spend $$$ on lawyers to defend it.
