I've heard a quote along these lines: There is no limit to how much good one can do when one doesn't conditionalize their actions on receiving credit.
It is just too bad that evolution (and culture) has set us up to need food, water (these days), power, control, security, identiity, love, compasion, community, .... or maybe that is a good situation that we are in. In the end, it is my persuasion that the human mind is too feeble to predict wether society would be better off in X decades if it adopted copyright/patent policy A compared to policy B. And even if it could predict future states, implementing the other policy may lead the prefered state in Y decades. Well, with this post, I've reached my monthly BS quota.
