Sorry, I missed that you had problems with the Gig sticks. It has happened to me before that I needed to flash the BIOS to get a board to take the biggest sticks they claim to be able to take... or if it's an older board and newer RAM using chips that are more dense.
        BTW - I have several boards that have dual BIOS.

Yes, that was my old ram-  what I had planned on was 2 1GB PC3200 sticks.

As for secondary BIOS- there are dual BIOS motherboards, its not too uncommon on medium->high priced mobos. Its basicly 2 BIOS EEPROMs with a non-flashable rom that decides which to use. Its normal use is for recovery if you have a bad flash of the primary BIOS, or if the primary becomes corrupted.
