I now have an HP LaserJet 2200d. It is the direct descendant of the
LJ4 and LJ5 series, and has a built-in duplexer. It came as an
exceptionally good deal from eBay.

I have sitting on the shelf in the back room a Laserjet IIIp, which is
the same mechanism as the IIp with newer firmware. But it has a bad
optical scanner. If your IIp still has a good scanner, the parts are
interchangeable. Interested?
