What kind of "clean up the print"?  Using the wrong kind of paper can
make rather furry/fuzzy print as the ink spreads out from where it was
deposited.

I assume he meant clean the print heads. But you're right, a paper type mismatch between the paper in the tray and the selected paper would cause a quality issue. Some models have a media sensor to detect media type mismatches, but many don't for cost reasons.
