Unfortunately it was more show than go as a revolution. Cardinal 
Jaime Sin, one of the prime movers, when referring to EDSA 1,
which was the Filipino "people power" movement that ousted 
Ferdinand Marcos, said, "We got rid of Ali Baba but we kept the
forty thieves."  Not that much really changed for the ordinary 
person.
