Interesting. I'd love to look at the docs. Tomorrow I plan to take the
box's pants off yet again and type the MB, then search on line for the
pin out of the control-led pins.

I still wonder why the failure is intermittent. I really suspect some
rogue settings in the power management BIOS. Tricky trying to reset that
when the box refuses to power up.
