I have installed RealPlayer 10 Gold. When I find the radio station
(KUSC-FM) on the net and click on the "RealPlayer" icon, RealPlayer
comes up in a small window and seems to go through the motions of
playing. Its volume control slider is also about 80% up, but nothing
comes out the audio jack.

Somewhere there must be another volume control that I have missed this
time around. Besides that I thought I had archived the extensive
KPLUG discussion of related subjects but can't find the answer there
today.

I have similar problems on FC3. Everything worked for some time until I ran a Yum update. I don't know when, or what piece of software caused the problem. Sound no longer works for any browser plugins even though video does. RealPlayer plays some videos but no sound.

My sound card is an Audigy2 ZS, fully supported and working. Sound in Doom 3 and Neverwinter Nights works fine. I've played with all the settings in KMix without success yet.

I just haven't felt like spending time to see what the problem is, but I sympathize with your frustration.
