I keep switching between Gnome and KDE. Both are installed, and I'll
go for a couple of weeks at a time with each. I do like the
simple-ness of Gnome, but there are a few specific things I don't
like:

1) Can't scroll-wheel on the desktop to switch virtual desktops.
2) Window-bars in task bar are always switching size with no apparent
rationality.
3) Right click on window title bar doesn't get me the plethora of
window control options that KDE gives me.
4) The standard file selector box. Why *must* I point and click? Why
can't I type?

I'm sure there's a few more. I really like the default split bars,
with the one on top having the Places and Desktop menus. And
configuring preferences is really easy. Mostly, I have a
perfectionist streak, and Gnome gives me less of a cluttered feel.

If I had to choose, I'd choose KDE. Pretty is never a replacement for Power.
