OK, so we're talking about a an "adapter" not an actual drive?

I can't comment on an adapter, but I do have a PCMCIA Hard drive.  A little
2gb Toshiba I think.  It shows up as an IDE device.  It's hot-swappable.
Works great!  I'm surprised it hasn't died in the about 5 years of slight
abuse it gets hanging around in the laptop or ipaq, etc...
