I know this goes against everything they ever taught you in Server
School. A laptop is not a server, so don't treat it like one.
I have come to this same conclusion. I have enough servers to manage. I
don't need the headache of having one on my lap. When I was learning,
it was great, but now I just want something to work. I can build out a
lap top in no time at all. I have taken an approach in the middle for
desktops, because there is more potential of having multiple drives, and
I have a tendency to use my desktop as a file server for the rest of the
house.
