Why do you want to do VoIP over Cellular-type wireless? A cellphone works *much* better and is far more reliable.

I'm gonna do some telecommuting and need to participate in a daily
11am conference call to LA. They all use VoIP connected
to an Asterisk server at their West LA office.

How does Ricochet and EVDO enter into the equation?

What's the problem with being wired for the call? Am I missing something?

If you are doing something like riding the Coaster to LA, you are simply hosed. All forms of wireless die in the area around Camp Pendleton. In addition, your solution would have to be able to handle fairly rapid handoff between cells.

I would second the adding an external line to the Asterisk server. Then a standard cellular phone would work fine. Tracy Reed would probably be the best person to talk to about this kind of problem.
