Definately, though not necessarily cheaply. Think of it this way. How much is your time worth ? If it takes weeks of time to get a Windows laptop repartitioned, and Linux installed and fully functional, isn't it worth a few hundred $$ to buy one that just works ? I got a 12" 2 GHz Centrino, 60 GB HD, 512 MB ASI laptop from www.system76.com, with Ubuntu Breezy installed, all the buttons, wireless, suspend to HD working from the outset. Suspend to ram a bit buggy (will not suspend, waking up), even after fixing DSDT with IASL. Only 4.4#, Very good battery life. Nice widescreen, looked very sharp playing video. Unfortunately, it got swiped .
