Every time I look through used laptops, I never understand why anyone would ever buy them.

From Outpost.com for $599 *NEW*:
GQ ZX-3310 AMD TURION MT-30; 256MB Memory; 40GB HD; Combo; 15.4"WXGA TFT; 802.11b/g; XP Home

From used for $639.00:
Compaq P-IV-2.0GHz, 512mb ram, 40gb Hard Drive, DVD/CDRW, 14.1 TFT SXGA 1400x1050 display, battery, AC adapter, 56K Fax/Modem, 10/100 Ethernet, USB, Windows XP Pro, Compaq Warranty

Okay, the 256MB memory is probably worth $40. But this is used vs. new for the same price!

Why would I ever buy used? Given the fact that I almost *never* get a good price from any of the "discount" stores on Clairemont Mesa anymore, I wonder how they stay open. I'm beginning to think that they are money laundering operations of some form.
