Jon,

I just found out the solution.

Apparently the up2date caused the sendmail.cf to be recreated. Before
the 6th of May
our mail messages were goin to host b.fakedomain.org but after the
recreation of sendmail.cf our mail messages were going to
mailer.fakedomain.org. Our sendmail.mc has not been touch since April
2005.
I reran 'm4 sendmail.mc > sendmail.cf' and the sendmail.cf was
recreated this morning and now my mail is working.
The problem was found by the RED HAT people but it still does not
explain why was the sendmail.cf file recreated onthe 6th of May and
what file did it used instead of the existing 'sendmail.mc'

Problem solve but there is still, an unanswered mistery.....

Thanks,

rotseN :-)

I just noticed that you have underscore in the host names. Perhaps that's
the issue. I seem to recall both sendmail and bind having issues with with
underscores. Not sure if it's something that was tacitly allowed before and
is now prohibited. At any rate, try removing the underscores and see if
that resolves the problem.
