My processor is an Athlon XP 2500+ two years old and my monitor is a

All of the installation media had been used successfully prior to my
recent troubles. It has been a very
puzzling three weeks.
Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.
Failing memory?
memtest86+ is available as a boot-time option on many recent Linux
distribution discs.
